After picking up our rented CanaDream motorhome near Calgary, we headed straight for the mountains and the Icefields Parkway. Along the 232-kilometre stretch of road between Lake Louise and Jasper are more than 100 glaciers, countless mountain peaks, beautiful turquoise lakes and stunning waterfalls. The weather was perfect and the scenery was spectacular, but our grandson, Phin slept through half of it.

Like many other Canadians, we had plans for a family trip with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson in 2020. And then we didn’t.
