Taipei, Feb. 28 (CNA) President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) attended an event in Tainan on Tuesday to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the 228 Incident, a civil uprising in 1947 that led to a bloody government crackdown, vowing that the government "must not make that mistake again."

Tainan, Feb. 27 (CNA) Tainan City Government announced Tuesday a series of human rights activities to be held in the southern city to commemorate the 228 Incident, a day ahead of a national commemorative ceremony also being held in Tainan that will be attended by President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and Premier Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁).
