Approximately 10 years ago, Somerset resident Tammy Ruggeri was dealing with the anxiety that immediately followed her father’s lung cancer diagnosis. She was encouraged to take on a hobby to help settle her mind, and on a trip to a fabric store in Lincoln, Rhode Island, she came across an advertisement for an affordable quilting class and signed up. “It lit a fire in me,” Ruggeri reflected. “I loved the idea of creating something from material and color.”
