Burlington, IA- The Burlington STEM Foundation has purchased the Craftsman Press Building at 203 North 3rd Street. According to a news release, the transfer of ownership of the building will take place over the summer. Craftsman Press has new ownership, who will be working with Ross Kuhlemeier, who has owned the company since 1966 during the transition. The printing company will continue to operate in the building until the new owners can find another location and the STEM Foundation are ready to begin construction. The foundation's plan is to build an "inspiration lab" for local students. Board member Tammy McCoy said in the release that the STEM Foundation was in the process of obtaining funding, and working toward a construction plan for a new opportunity downtown. The building will be closed for a few years.
