Amid the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5th District) wanted to highlight the positive aspects of what has been a difficult year for many residents and businesses.
On Tuesday, several Sussex County residents were among more than 30 recipients of the Fifth District Hometown Hero Award, with some recognized for their efforts to make a difference during the months-long pandemic.
Tuesday morning s virtual ceremony marked the sixth presentation of the semiannual awards by Gottheimer to first responders, veterans, business leaders and other important figures in the district. All honorees are nominated by a colleague or fellow resident in recognition of their service to the community.
