The enforcement directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth Rs205.36 crore of MGM Maran and MGM Anand and their company Southern Agrifurane Industries Pvt Ltd under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a case related to Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Ltd. Nesamanimaran Muthu, alias MGM Maran, is the former chairman of Tamilnadu Mercantile Bank Ltd, while Anand is his associate.
