In a circular issued, Deputy Directors of health services have been asked to screen all students and faculty in a week’s time. DDs have also been directed to share the SOPs and information as well as education and communication materials with all school managements.
TN School Reopening: Additional SOPs
Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakra teams would screen all students and faculty of classes 10 and 12 within a week.
Public Health Centre or PHC’s teams would be mobilised and present for screening the students and especially checking for co-morbidities.
Mobile Medical Unit are to be made available at blocks and contact details to be shared with schools in the area for emergency purposes

Tamil Nadu Schools would reopen from January 19, 2021. Announcing the dates to reopen schools in Tamil Nadu, the TN government has also shared SOPs and guidelines regarding the same. To begin with, the schools would reopen only for students of classes 10 and 12.
As per the SOPs shared by the government, no more than 25 students would be permitted in a classroom. Also, the hostels have also been given the permission to operate for the students allowed to attend school.
Schools in Tamil Nadu will reopen next week for students from Class 10 and 12 with COVID-19 safety norms, Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami said today. Mr Palaniswami said that majority of parents want schools to repoen so that students can prepare for the annual exams.
