The Tamil Nadu government has decided to extend the lockdown by one more week till June 7.
In a statement, the government said that a food kit with 13 items will be distributed to all ration cardholders from June.
Shops selling vegetables, fruits and groceries would remain shut during the period.
The government will also take steps to ensure delivery of groceries at the doorstep of people.
