今回、テラヘルツ周波数カウンタの測定性能は、従来は不可避であった被測定テラヘルツ発振器の雑音に影響されないように設計・構築した評価系を使って確認しました。その結果、本カウンタ1台だけで電波法で定義された電波の上限帯域を幅広く網羅しつつ、計測精度が16桁に到達することを実証しました。これは、1 THzの電波周波数を100μHz（1 THzの10の16乗分の1）以下の精度で決定できることに相当します。これらの性能は、小型かつ室温動作するテラヘルツ周波数カウンタの動作帯域幅と計測精度として、共に世界トップの性能です。
