Bauchi Hisbah to repatriate prostitutes from other states, marry off indigenes

The Bauchi State Shariah Commission has disclosed plans to repatriate non-indigenous prostitutes in the state back to their states of origin while it will marry off indigenous prostitutes to tackle immorality in the State.
The Permanent Commissioner of the Commission in charge of ‘Hisbah’ (Islamic police), Aminu Balarabe Isah, told journalists on Tuesday that the Commission is concerned about the activities of commercial sex workers in the State.
He said this during a pre-Ramadan sensitization meeting organized by his office for prostitutes at their settlement in the Bayan Gari area of Bauchi metropolis.

Sokoto Hisbah is constitutional ― Tambuwal

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State has explained that the new Hisbah Commission in the state should not be perceived as a legalistic gimmick intent on fostering anything other than the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on residents of the State.
Tambuwal stated this while signing into law the state’s Hisbah Commission Bill submitted to him by the Sokoto State House of Assembly (SOHA).
Appealing to the people of the State and those outside not to misconstrue or misrepresent the law, the governor emphasized that there is no ulterior motive behind its enactment.
