House went on fire so we rushed as soon as possible to get out of the house. Both residents escaped without injury. But investigators suspected arson immediately. There were two separate fires. One in the driveway which spread to the house and a second fire started in a car on the street. All three vehicles belong to the homeowner. Okay on copper road, it underscores the safety issue in crossing the street. Montgomery county police list this stretch of connecticut avenue here in aspen hill as one of the ten most dangerous for pedestrians. So this is one of the places they have ramped up enforcement. In just nine months, they have issued more than 200 tickets here to both drivers for failing to yield to pedestrians who were in the crosswalk, and to pedestrians who were jaywalking.
