A month after forming an ad hoc committee on landscape and beautification, Mayor Jagdish Raja formed four new ad hoc committees on building and roads, sanitation and health, town planning and water supply and sewerage disposal committee today.
A Jalandhar-based social activist has written to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner questioning the age-old MC tradition of letting relatives of councillors’ attend the House meeting. He has sought barring of all non-members of the MC from attending the House meetings.
After seven months, Mayor Jagdish Raja today formed an ad hoc committee on landscape and beautification. While Councillor Jasleen Sethi will be the chairman of the committee, Councillors Bimla Rani, Prabhdayal Bhagat and Tamanreet Kaur from Ward Nos. 13, 22 and 1, respectively, will be its members.
