Multi-storied Srirangapatna Taluk Office lacks lifts, ramps for infirm and disabled
Srirangapatna: Contrary to the claims of the State Government of spending huge amounts on providing better facilities to people coming to Government Offices for grievance redressal, common people are facing tremendous hardships due to the absence of lifts at important offices.
So much so that the elderly citizens have to be physically carried by their attendants to offices that are located on different floors of the Government Office buildings.
The Taluk Office at Srirangapatna, just 15 kilometres from Mysuru, does not have a lift and even after decades, the authorities have not felt the necessity of providing a lift facility for the aged and infirm to reach the offices located on the first and second floors of the building.

Holding Gram Panchayat (GP) elections without any law and order problem and clearing rampant encroachment of Government lands were the two major challenges before this young and dynamic KAS Officer of 2014 batch, who took charge as Tahsildar on Jan. 6, 2020 in a politically sensitive region frequented by VIPs and VVIPs.
A native of Kiragandur in Mandya district, he says managing the visit of VVIPs as per protocol is the biggest responsibility. There are occasions when he has worked even on general holidays. Employees want old pension scheme implemented
Urging the State government to scrap the New Pension Scheme and implement the old pension scheme, members of Tamil Nadu Government Employees Association (TNGEA) staged a road roko outside the Taluk Office here on Tuesday.
Led by its district president R. Rakimuthu, members said the State government had introduced the Contributory Pension Scheme for its employees who joined service after April 1, 2003. But the guidelines for the new scheme were yet to be announced whereas the contribution was deducted every month from the employees all these years.
