Archer Elementary School Principal Stella Arduser demoted but not fired

Archer Elementary School Principal Stella Arduser has been demoted but not fired as recommended after a school district investigation found that there is a “preponderance of evidence” that she violated School Board policies. In a recent letter to Arduser, a school official said she has been reassigned to a supervisory position in the district’s learning resources department in the Sivia Center, handling media services. Kevin Purvis, the assistant superintendent of human resources who previously recommended after an internal investigation that Arduser be fired, wrote that per board policy, she will continue to earn her $82,387 annual salary until the end of the fiscal year, which ends June 1.

Elijah McClain: Aurora, Colorado, to hire independent police monitor after investigation into death

Elijah McClain: Aurora, Colorado, to hire independent police monitor after investigation into death CNN 2/24/2021 © Courtesy McClain family attorney Mari Newman Officials in Aurora, Colorado, said Tuesday that an independent monitor will be set up to scrutinize police discipline and transparency after an investigation triggered by the in-custody death of Elijah McClain found a failed system of accountability. I believe the investigative team has identified the issue that is at the root of the case: the failure of a system of accountability, City Manager Jim Twombly told reporters. McClain died in August 2019, three days after he was stopped by Aurora police, put in a carotid hold and injected with ketamine. No charges were brought against the officers because District Attorney Dave Young wrote in a June 2020 letter that prosecutors lacked evidence to prove the officers caused McClain s death or that their force was unjustified.

He s no longer labeled a suspect. He is actually a victim. Elijah McClain died in August 2019, three days after he was stopped by Aurora police, put in a carotid hold, and injected with ketamine.
