he saw a woman being attacked by a man and as he tried to stop him, all of that was picked up on the camera. as heroic as tale-yax s actions were, he remained invisible. relay here in a crumbled here for more than an hour where more than two dozen people passed on by. invisible, even finding someone who knew him was a challenge. we did eventually find his cousin. at least one of the people that just walkway from him, they should have stopped by and see what happened to him. that probably could have save his life, too, but nobody did it. reporter: for days people have speculated why no one stopped. maybe it was the so-called bystander behavior or maybe our society is so saturated with violent images on tv and video game, when people see the real trauma, it barely registers. none of that helps him.
hugo. he did ask his husband, why would hugo step in and save the life of a woman he had never even met. he shook his head and said he just didn t know. my father was telling me that he saw him three month ago. he saw him on the subway, and then they hug each other. i think he was saying goodbye to my fathering i thin, i think. today we learned that hugo is 31 years old and grew up in guatema guatemala, but we couldn t find any photos of him. even his cousin hadn t seen him in months. in fact, these grainy images from a surveillance camera are the only memories he has left. a wake will be held for tale-yax
