A Pentagon police officer is on leave after he shot and killed two suspects who he thought were breaking into a vehicle in Takoma Park. The officer was off duty when the incident occurred.
Officers say they responded to reports of shots fired in the parking lot area of the Takoma Overlook Condominiums at around 5 a.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they say an off-duty Pentagon Force Protection Agency Police Officer told them he say what he thought was a car break-in and fired at two suspects who tried to the flee the scene in a vehicle.

TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WJLA) - A Pentagon Force Protection Agency Police officer is on administrative leave after he allegedly fatally shot two people, who he believed were breaking into a car, in the pre-dawn hours.
The shooting happened around 5 a.m. Wednesday at the Takoma Overlook Condominiums in Takoma Park, Maryland, about seven miles from Washington, D.C. Police say an off-duty officer with the Pentagon Police “advised he observed what he thought was a car being broken into.”
