Five years ago, I spoke at some length on the subject of crime and violence in our streets. At the time, our nation was in the grips of the Obama crime wave of 2015–2016. A Queens man who was released without bail after he allegedly shot another man during a robbery in February dragged an NYPD officer with his car during a traffic stop in Brooklyn on Friday, police said.
Takim Newson, 32, was arrested on Long Island after body camera footage caught him reversing his vehicle during a car stop in Brooklyn’s 71st Precinct which includes parts of Crown Heights, Wingate and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens around 3:50 a.m. on Friday, the NYPD said.
