Financed and set up by the Republic of China (Taiwan), the groundbreaking ceremony for the centre was presided jointly by the representative of Taipei Trade Office in Fiji, Jessica Lee, and a senior officer of the Ministry of Agriculture on Monday. In her address, Ms Lee said as Fiji’s longest agricultural development partner and the world-leading IT industry country, Taiwan government injected around $3million to set up the first-of-its-kind Agricultural Technology Transfer Centre to help Fiji harness the potential of its agriculture sector.
