「几嗚─几嗚」，位於桃園市楊梅區高榮里731號埤塘的「高榮野生動物保護區」傳來「台北赤蛙」此起彼落的叫聲，保育人員喜迎新生命的誕生，市府農業局林務科長傅瀅濱說，目前粗估園內至少有200隻「台北赤蛙」幼蛙誕生，從瀕臨絕種到穩定成長，復育數量是近10年最多，令人興奮。傅瀅濱說，台北赤蛙繁殖期為每年4月至9月間，根據統計，現存成蛙數量約400至500隻，但蝌蚪、幼蛙數量達200隻，較去年成長近2倍、也是近10年最多，孵化率也達9成，預計在中秋節前後，所有蝌蚪能變態上岸。
