The award is organized by the National Museum of Taiwan Literature. And there are two competition categories: The Golden Award for published books, and the Creative Writing Award for writing in one’s mother tongue. The idea of the awards is to pay tribute to the many excellent works of literature produced in Taiwan and to encourage the creation of original works. In addition, the hope is that the revamped awards will revitalize the nation’s literary community.
