Taipei, Aug. 25 (CNA) Taiwan has successfully developed an indigenous remote-controlled drone defense system, and it will first be deployed in the nation's outlying islands to counter hostile drone incursions, the Ministry of National Defense (MND) said Wednesday, after a video emerged showing Taiwanese soldiers throwing rocks at a drone near a sentinel station on one of the islands.

Taiwan's Army show off its latest domestically-made armoured vehicle, the CM-34 Clouded Leopard. The all-weather combat vehicle is armed with a 30mm chain gun with an effective firing range of 3 kilometres. Taiwan has embarked on developing its own weapons programme to boost its defense capability against China. The CM-34 production facility in central Taiwan can produce 6 vehicles per month. Taiwan's military have ordered 305 Clouded Leopards.
