SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There is a chance for periods of light snow and gusty winds in the Lake Tahoe area through Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
The first part of this weak storm is moving through the region on Thursday with the second part Friday into Saturday.
Snow totals will be light for the first wave, and up to a few inches for the second wave. Up to 1 inch in the Tahoe Basin and higher terrain of northeast
California, with spotty dustings possible Friday night for Western Nevada foothills.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A taste of what is to come in the next week hit the Lake Tahoe Basin Saturday. The overnight system is moving out with the next one due Sunday afternoon.
Heavenly reports 2 of snow overnight, Sierra-at-Tahoe 3 , Kirkwood 3 , Mt. Rose 1 and Squaw Alpine 4 .
Road Conditions as of 10:45 a.m. Saturday. US50 over Echo and I80 over Donner controls have been lifted at this time.
