Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a Fulani kidnap kingpin said to be notorious, Usman Hassan, who escaped from Ibadan, Oyo State after killing one of his gang’s victims.
Usman and his accomplices had earlier been arrested in Oyo State after they abducted a farm owner at Solalu village, collected a ransom, and still killed him
According to the police, the suspect was arrested at his hideout in Imala, Abeokuta North Local Government Area of the state.
Oyeyemi disclosed that the suspect and his gang members were alleged to have been responsible for the kidnapping of a farmer in Solalu village, Oyo State.
He said the suspect subsequently killed the farmer after collecting a ransom and fled to Ogun State to hibernate.
The police spokesman added that “on getting to Ogun State, the suspect started recruiting other Fulani men to form another kidnap gang in the state.
“Detectives of the Ogun State police command got information about his activity from those Fulani he had tried to recruit.

Usman Hassan, a principal suspect among kidnappers who abducted and later killed an Ibadan farm owner, Mr Oluwole Agboola, has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun State Command.
Hassan is the brother of Usman Tahiru, who was a staff of late Agboola, and who confessed that he collected N50,000 as his share of the ransom paid by the family of the late farm owner.
Hassan whose accomplices had been arrested in Oyo State after the kidnap of Agboola at Solalu Village, before he was eventually killed, ran to Ogun State to hibernate when he knew that the police were after him.
