Who killed Stephen in The Bay? Episode 2 questions and theories

The Bay prime suspects - who is guilty?

The Bay didn t waste any time in chucking Lisa (Morven Christie), Med (Taheen Modak), Manning (Daniel Ryan) and co in at the deep end. Stephen Tompkinson, who you would have expected to stick around for a while, only appeared in the drama s opening episode for just over four minutes before his character, also called Stephen, was killed in cold blood. It s been almost two years since our last trip to Morecambe, but all is forgiven following that staggering premiere. 20 January 2021 • 10:00pm Morven Christie returns in The Bay Credit: ITV ITV’s crime dramas can be a mixed bag – let us never speak of modern-day Van Der Valk again – and the first series of Morecambe-set The Bay was so-so. She was on her best behaviour, though. Demoted from DS to DC, she’s on probation and forced to play second fiddle to colleague Med (Taheen Modak), who has the emotional intelligence of a stick of rock.

The ITV drama, which sees Morven Christie play the lead role as former detective Lisa Armstrong, is set in the seaside town of Morecombe and sees tragedy strikes after a sudden murder. And it seems that fans all had a similar reaction to watching the whodunnit, with many praising the gritty first episode. Taking to social media, one person wrote: So glad #TheBay is back. Only thing better than a gritty crime drama is when it s set somewhere you know.
