Young mom beats her 1-year-old baby to death in Taguig

Suspect Christine May Dabuit who is accused of killing her baby (Taguig Police / MANILA BULLETIN)  Taguig police identified the suspect as Christine May Dabuit, a single mom. According to the police, the incident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on April 20 in the suspect’s house in Sitio Imelda, Brgy. Upper Bicutan.  Police said Dabuit repeatedly struck the baby with a rattan stick when he started to cry. The victim suffered difficulty in breathing, prompting his mother to rush him to the Brgy. Upper Bicutan Health Center but she was advised to bring him to the hospital.  The baby was rushed to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH) but he was declared dead on arrival at 1:37 p.m. by attending physician Dr. Leila Bondoc.

Taguig health workers get second dose of COVID-19 vaccine

A senior citizen being vaccinated in Taguig (Taguig City government)  Doctors, nurses, and other health workers at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH) were inoculated with the second dose on March 30. The remaining health workers will also get their second dose.  In addition, the city government has started vaccinating senior citizens on March 31. The target is to inoculate more than 70,000 seniors in the city.  According to the Department of Health (DOH), Sinovac is given four weeks (28 days) apart and four to 12 weeks apart for the AstraZeneca vaccine.  The city government is almost 90 percent complete in vaccinating people under category A1 of the COVID-19 Vaccine Priority List, which include doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers from public and private COVID-19 referral hospitals in Taguig. 

DILG lauds Metro Manila LGUs for efficient COVID-19 roll-out

(ALI VICOY / MANILA BULLETIN) DILG officer-in-charge (OIC) Bernardo Florece Jr. said the efficient roll-out of COVID-19 vaccination has increased the demand for the doses among the medical frontliners.   “This is a good development. A few days since the vaccination program began, we have seen the significant increase in vaccine confidence among health care workers with some hospitals even running out of stocks,” Florece said.
