We go right to a video with Randy Orton, who is wearing an old school lucha-style mask on his face to cover the burns suffered in the fireball attack by Alexa Bliss last week. Orton talks about fire and about how he held Bliss’ fate in his hands three weeks ago. On the big screen we see a replay of Orton holding the match over Bliss three weeks ago at the end of the show. );
We see Orton standing in an empty ring now. He talks about how his hate was redirected to the next lamb, Triple H, until Bliss had to interrupt during last week’s match. And now look at me, Orton says. This is the damnation he receives for showing compassion to Bliss before? Orton says he hasn’t been able to sleep because all he sees is the fireball coming at his face when he closes his eyes. We see a replay of last week’s fireball attack. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre has returned to the ring for the first time following his COVID-19 diagnosis two weeks ago. The champion s condition was revealed as he continued to appear on Raw by taping segments from home while quarantined. While his status for Royal Rumble wasn t seen as in peril, whether or not he could appear for WWE s Superstar Spectacle tapings today was.
However, McIntyre was able to return to the ring today to film the big show for the India market. McIntyre teamed with Indus Sher to take on his longtime friend Jinder Mahal and the Bollywood Boyz.
The Superstar Spectacle will premiere on the WWE Network on Tuesday morning at 9:30 am Eastern. It will also air at 8:00 pm IST on Sony Ten 1, Sony Ten 3, and Sony MAX in India.
Adam Pearce Explains Why Some WWE Superstars Can Declare Their Royal Rumble Spots
There’s been a lot of online chatter this year about how random WWE Superstars have “declared” their spots for the WWE Royal Rumble Matches. Superstars like Randy Orton have announced their spots, while others like Drew Gulak have been denied when they tried to do the same.
WWE official Adam Pearce took to Twitter this evening and addressed the Rumble Match declarations.
“It’s actually pretty simple: Those that have been granted the ability to simply declare entry into the Royal Rumble by management are free to do so. Those that haven’t must qualify. I don’t write the rules, I enforce them. [man shrugging emoji,” he wrote.
New WWE Network Documentaries Premiering This Week, Wrestling Challenge Debuts On The WWE Network
The classic Wrestling Challenge series debuted on the WWE Network today. 13 episodes from September 6, 1986 to November 29, 1986 are now available in the on-demand section of the WWE Network.
A new “Best Of” compilation will be added to the free version of the WWE Network tomorrow at 12pm ET. This will feature the Best Of Royal Rumble Matches from the Attitude Era.
We noted before that a new episode of WWE Playback will be released this Friday on the WWE Network, featuring Superstars watching the 2020 Men’s & Women’s Royal Rumble Matches. The guests for the return of Playback are WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair, Samoa Joe, Shotzi Blackheart, and more.

The WWE Royal Rumble match card received a major shake-up on SmackDown this week. In the closing moments of the show, Kevin Owens was revealed to have taken Adam Pearce s spot in the Universal Championship Match against Roman Reigns at the Rumble. Not only that, but the match will now be a Last Man Standing Match. Additionally, we had a new entrant revealed for the men s Rumble match.
