decision did not come down to a panel of state justices. instead just secretary of state shenna bellows upheld two of the three challenges brought by maine voters. one of whom i ll speak to in just a moment. what bellows says her reasoning was based on and what it all means for donald trump heading into super tuesday. we re also watching colorado where time is ticking on the decision to remove trump from the ballot there that the former president has yet to file his appeal with the supreme court. still voters are urging justices to speed up their review of an appeal from colorado s republican party. how and when they could act. plus which other states could throw a wrench into trump s 2024 calendar. we ve got a whole lot to cover. let s dive in. joining me msnbc news justice reporter ryan riley. bring us up to speed on what happened in maine and how donald trump is now reacting. yes. as you expect the trump campaign plans to file an appeal quickly and get this through the
recording pressuring michigan election officials not to certify the 2020 election results. overseas, police release body camera video about the shooting in prague that left 14 people dead. back here in the u.s., the humanitarian crisis at the border reaching record levels after a week of never before seen numbers of people crossing into the united states. and we begin this hour with yet another report of detailing former president trump s alleged efforts to halt the certification of the 2020 presidential election. new recordings reportedly detail trump pressuring canvassers in michigan to not certify the state s 2020 election results, which he lost. he reportedly told them, quote, we can t let these people take our country away from us. the detroit news says the recordings were made by someone presen f the conversation, but were obtained by intermediary who was not present. nbc news has not heard or verified the recordings. in response, the trump campaign says, quote, a
on trial. several prosecutors are working on that very task, even as donald trump s civil fraud trial stretched through the december of 2023 and in 2024 as you probably heard because you re watching the news defendant trump faces several criminal trials in different jurisdictions while running for president again. so, special counsel jack smith leading the prosecution of trump s coup in washington. and separately the stolen intelligence documents case in florida. atlanta d.a. pushing ahead on a long-term plan for those rico trials after winning convictions of trump aides through this 2023. and then the smaller criminal case in new york. taken together, over 90 felonies charged. that is not normal even if it has been normalized. the first coup trial initially slated for march while those schedules can of course change, america s facing more serious warnings from people who know about this, from actual legal experts, discussing a very real possibility that one of the major poli
