A Chesterfield mom is calling on parents to do their part in preventing gun violence among youth after six young people were shot at a graduation party in Chester Friday night.
During a press conference on Saturday, Major Brad Badgerow said officers would have been at the party earlier in the night had other calls not taken priority. He said there was nothing officers could've done to prevent the party from getting out of control.
Chesterfield Police said they received multiple disturbance calls about a loud party before it turned violent and deadly but did not respond to any of those calls due to a high volume of other calls that took priority.
