joining me now republican strategist and contributor, danny vargas. it is interesting that they have assembled this group of five people. reflection is always wise. we have talked about the fact that the reflection has to be outreach to the latino community and not as a monolithic group of people but we know as a valuable voting bloc of the future of this country. period. a valuable and growing voting bloc. looking to the future that s in the value of the growth there. the interesting thing is and taking place at the national level, the state level, local level throughout this country. i think it s necessary and warranted and i think it s a good thing but i made the comment recently and said imagine 2050 with a republican president and chairman wong around the table thinking about white outreach. the nation is changing. changing demographic. i think the core principles of the party hold true and
i m sure everyone noticed there s no one of color representing, so hopefully we can tackle one of those issues. i love those are. you thinking round petitions or in other kinds of ways? petitions are a great way to do it. we were very successful. it is also just about keeping the public aware we can t have another 20-year gap and we finally closed it but we don t want it to reopen and want the public to be aware this has been going on an needs to change. one of the things i experience with young women at our table is they do a lot of political work but are not thinking of running for office themselves. anybody at this table thinking of running for office at the school level or potentially at other levels at some point? definitely at the school level. next year i m going to be the president of the junior class in our small learning community, but we ll see. i mean, we are 16. we have a long way to think about it. i m thrilled you are getting experience in your junior class a

actually, on wednesday, we had a small earthquake, it was big at the time. we thought, wow, this is quite a big quake. but you know, in retrospect, it was a small one. but on wednesday we had a quake. on friday when the big one hit, everyone just got under the table thinking, here we go again, but it lasted a long time. it felt very, very long. the magnitude of the seriousness of what was going on, i think, when everything started falling around us, happen cabinets falling down, windows smashed out, i ve been in quakes before but this was terrifying. as soon as the quake stopped we were all under desks because that s the drill as soon as the quake stop we d evacuated everyone. a lot of people ran out of
