Led by Grand Slam winner Ma Long, Shandong overcame Lexuan Sports Group and Jiangsu consecutively with a scoreline of 3-0 in both games. Fang Bo/Wang Chuqin earned a good start for Shandong, bettering the Lexuan pair of Liu Dingshuo/Cao Yantao 11-6, 11-5, 5-11, 11-5. Ma needed four games to beat Zhu Yi, and Wang shrugged off Cao in dominant fashion to help Shandong get through.
