The first day Jo Scaletty (Communication ’23) arrived on Northwestern’s campus, they began working for Multicultural Student Affairs as a student adviser. Part of the job was working shifts each week at the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center, then located on the third floor of Norris University Center. But, Scaletty also found themselves gravitating there.
It didn’t even take a week for cameras to start following first-year University of Iowa student Euan Mugisha. He said he noticed UI photographers focusing on him at a bingo event during On Iowa! programming. “There’ll be times when I am more marketable,” Mugisha, who is African American, said. “I have no issue with it.”.

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Pirates have taken over Beauvoir this weekend, but instead of robbing, theyâre bringing in money, by attracting people who may not have ever come to the museum dedicated to Jefferson Davis, the only Confederate president.
And the festival strategy seems to be working by dishing up some fun with a little history lesson on the side. This festival is tailor-made for Louisiana residents Golden Lynn and Julie Wiggers.
