ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday directed to maintain the gas tariff for next few months in a order to provide relief to the consumers.
Chairing a review meeting on the prices of flour, sugar and other essential commodities, the prime minister called for intensifying efforts to facilitate the common man, particularly belonging to the lower class.
Federal ministers including Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Mohammad Hammad Azhar, Syed Fakhr-e-Imam, Omar Ayub and Asad Umar; special assistants Nadeem Babar, Dr Waqar Masood and Tabish Gohar, former finance minister Shaukat Tareen, federal secretaries and senior officials attended the meeting.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Monday said offers had already started coming to their senators ahead of election for the Senate chairman.
Chairing a meeting of the party spokespersons here, Imran said he knew which senator was offered what adding that the role of the Election Commission was controversial and it did what was done in the Daska by-election.
Referring to the recent Senate elections and emergence of a video, involving Yusuf Raza Gilani’s son and two MNAs, he said Yusuf Raza Gilani had blatantly trampled the morals and the nation was closely watching his actions.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the taxation system should be reformed and structured in a way that facilitates businesses and helps the country’s economy grow.
He made these remarks on Friday while chairing a meeting that was attended by the Finance Minister, Hafeez Shaikh, Minister for Planning, Asad Umar, and Minister for Industries, Hammad Azhar.
Advisors Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Dr. Isharat Hussain, Dr. Waqar Masood, Tabish Gohar, Nadeem Babar, Chairman Investment Board, and other senior officials were also among those in attendance.
The premier said that the objective of tax reforms was to make the tax code simple, plug loopholes in the system, reduce discretionary powers of tax collectors and practitioners, and introduce automation to ensure transparency of the system.
