Maison Margiela and Reebok have continued their ongoing collaboration with the launch of the Tabi Instapump Fury Oxford. The new silhouette which follows the Classic Leather “Bianchetto” and the trompe l’oeil Club C mixes signature Maison Margiela motifs with Reebok’s Pump technology.
The sneaker features the classic Tabi split-toe construction, which is combined with a calfskin leather upper based on a Derby shoe. These Margiela codes are then placed atop a midsole taken from Margiela’s Retro Fit silhouette, while the heeled boot design references the Instapump Fury, which is also integrated through the Pump fastening system.
While we can’t be thankful for many things that came out of 2020, one thing that brought a little more light into our lives emerged at Maison Margiela’s SS20 Couture show – a new, must-have shoe created in collaboration with Reebok that took the form of the Tabi Instapump Fury.
An instant fave for its retro aesthetic, it melded Margiela’s signature Tabi boot with Reebook’s 90s Instapump Fury silhouette and came in all-black, all-white, and a colour version that paid homage to the OG sneaker.
You might be thinking: ‘How the hell could they improve on that?’ Enter stage left: the Tabi Instapump Fury Oxford. Taking all the best parts of the original hybrid (i.e. all of it), the new silhouette throws a low-top leather derby into the mix too.
