MSX index ends marginally lower

Muscat: The MSX index closed at 3,848.74 points, down 0.50 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.23 per cent at 553.61 points. Salalah Mills, up 6.55 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman & Emirates Holding, down 9.43 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Madina Takaful were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Al Jazeera Service was most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 502 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1 million, with more than 7.5 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 19 declined and 19 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR89,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR47,000 followed by Locals investors for OMR42,000 worth of shares.

The Sharia Index ended down 0.32 per cent at 537.38 points. National Gas, up 6.25 per cent, was the top gainer while Taageer Finance, down 2.70 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Sharqiya Investment were the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Al Anwar Ceramic was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 867 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR2.6 million, with more than 15.8 million shares changing hands. Out of 56 traded stocks, 12 advanced, 15 declined and 29 remained unchanged. At the session close, GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR487,000 while local investors were net sellers for OMR373,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR114,000 worth of shares.

Muscat: The MSM index closed at 3,603.99 points, flat 0.00 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended up 0.08 per cent at 511.39 points. Al Madina Takaful, up 4.11 per cent, was the top gainer while United Power, down 9.82 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Madina Takaful was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded and Ooredoo was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 314 trades were executed during the day s trading session, generating a turnover of OMR0.65 million, with more than 5.1 million shares changing hands. Out of 40 traded stocks, 6 advanced, 9 declined and 25 remained unchanged. At the session close, local investors were net buyers for OMR181,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR153,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR28,000 worth of shares.
