Auburn girl, 13, killed in Syracuse stabbing
A 13-year-old girl killed in a stabbing Monday in Syracuse was from Auburn, police said.
The Syracuse Police Department on Tuesday said Naj ee Wright was stabbed to death by 16-year-old girl from Syracuse, Xomara Diaz. The 16-year-old has been charged with first-degree manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. She is being held at a juvenile detention facility in Erie County, and the investigation is continuing.
Wright was a student at Auburn Junior High School.
Syracuse police said they responded at about 5:55 p.m. to a call of a stabbing on West Onondaga Street. Wright was taken by ambulance to Upstate University Hospital, by AMR Ambulance, where she later was pronounced dead.
