John Paul Jr. battled Huntington’s disease for more than two decades.
Paul was one of the most versatile racers of his generation, winning in both sports cars and Indy cars. He even started two NASCAR Cup Series races.
Paul was a two-time winner at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and won a 500-mile Indy car race at Michigan in 1983.
John Paul Jr., a two-time Rolex 24 at Daytona winner and winner of the 1983 CART race at Michigan International Speedway, died Tuesday at the age of 60.
