2021 CHAN: Mali reach final after defeating Guinea on penalties
Douala, Cameroon (PANA) - Mali will play in Sunday s final of the 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Yaounde after winning 5-4 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday to eliminate Guinea at the tournament in Cameroon.
The match between the arch rivals and neighbours ended goalless after extra time and it was substitute striker Mamadou Coulibaly who decided the semi-final tie at the Japoma Stadium in Douala.
Coulibaly sent Guinea substitute goalkeeper Sekouba Camara the wrong way with the final kick of the match to secure the Eagles’ place in the final.

Guinea coach Kanfory Bangoura is hopeful that his side can win Wednesday s derby with neighbours Mali in the semi-finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon on Wednesday.

Sautu header rescues Zambia in Guinea clash at CHAN
Zambia needed a late Spencer Sautu goal to earn a 1-1 draw against Guinea in Group D of the TOTAL African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon on Saturday.
The midfielder headed in the equaliser with just three minutes remaining at the Limbe Stadium to rescue the tie for the Chipolopolo.
This was after Syli National midfielder Victor Kantabaduno scored what looked like the winner for the West Africans in the 58th minute until Sautaâs intervention restored parity.
The result means both Zambia and Guinea maintain their places at the top of the group with four points apiece, having won their opening matches last Tuesday.
