According to an official concerned, foreign experts and workers of the fast-track projects are working hard to complete the projects as per the government’s desire. The official said the COVID-19 pandemic hindered pace of work of the fast-track projects, including most important Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project, Rapid Mass Transit (MRT) Line-6 and also Payra port development work. “Once these projects are completed, the country’s economy will see a big change,” said the official.

Efforts to bring system losses of electricity down to 5pc 458 By Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo DHAKA, Feb 25, 2021 (BSS) – The government has a target to bring system losses of electricity down to five percent following the international standard from the existing 8.73 percent. “Our target is to bring it around five percent as per the international standard with successfully installing smart grid, substations and prepayment meters across the country,” Director General of Power Cell Engineer Mohammad Hossain told BSS here today. He said with sincere efforts and realistic and sustainable steps by the government, the electricity system losses have been brought down to 8.73 percent from 14.33.
