LAHORE: Pakistan have qualified for the baseball event of the 2022 Asian Games scheduled to be held from Sept 18-22 in Hangzhou, China.
Pakistan Federation Baseball president Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said Pakistan would be among the 12 baseball teams which will participate in the 19th edition of the Asian gala.
The countries that will feature in the baseball event in Hangzhou include Japan (world No. 1), Korea (No. 2), Taiwan (No. 3), China (4), Pakistan (5), Hong Kong (6), Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Mongolia and Laos.
LAHORE: Pakistan will help Qatar to raise its national baseball team with its government to help enter the team in the Asian Games, which the country is hosting in 2030.
Pakistan Federation Baseball (PFB) president Syed Fakhar Ali Shah informed in a press statement that a meeting in that regard was held with the Ambassador of Qatar Sheikh Saud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Islamabad.
Fakhar further said that he briefed the Ambassador about the baseball development in Pakistan. He said that PFB had organised the Dubai Baseball Cup 2017 in Dubai in which national teams of Pakistan and India participated. He proposed for the development of the Olympic Sport Baseball in Qatar.
