Governor urges opposition to support anti-corruption legislation
LAHORE:
Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has claimed that the government wants an end to horse-trading in the Senate elections but the opposition wants its continuation.
He stated this while speaking at the inauguration of a water filtration plant installed by Al-Khidmat Foundation in Jinnah Hospital on Sunday.
“The whole world knows that votes are bought and sold in the Senate elections. We want to end this corruption for which the opposition should support the government in legislation.”
He maintained that nobody can oust the government. “Defence Minister Pervez Khattak has also made it clear that he stands with Prime Minister Imran Khan. We will ensure the protection of national interests at any cost.”
