Milestones Highlight Prep Results [Scores Mon Mar 8]
It was a good night to celebrate stats ending in a series of zeroes. Blooming Prairie senior Megan Oswald grabbed her 1,000th career rebound in an overtime loss to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown. Owatonna junior Evan Dushek scored his 1,000th career point in a win at Northfield. OHS sophomore Ezra Oien collected her 100th career point in a hockey victory at Austin.
Oswald s milestone rebound came on her first rebound in what turned out to be an overtime thriller between the top two teams in the Gopher Conference. WEM prevailed 60-51 in overtime in a game that was tight throughout regulation with several ties down the stretch.
Hunst Scores 100th Career Point in Victory
Owatonna High School senior Sydney Hunst reached a rare milestone Monday night, 100 career points. She joins a small club of OHS skaters to reach that figure. Her 100th point came on an assist in the third period of the Huskies 5-0 win over Austin. Her sister Lilly also assisted on the goal by Olivia Herzog.
OHS coach Tony Cloud asked for the puck and says Hunst didn t realize she had reached the 100 career points. My unofficial stats indicate she has 40+ goals and almost 60 assists since debuting as an eigth-grader.
In an interview with AM 1390 KRFO, Hunst said she is thrilled to be playing, At first there was the mask that we had to get used to on the ice. For me, at the end of the day, I get to play hockey. And, although it s a bummer that more of our friends aren t able to come watch.I m still playing hockey and that s what really makes me happy.
