This month, Shyam Selvadurai – besides having several more acclaimed novels under his belt, including Cinnamon Gardens and The Hungry Ghosts – is nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for his adaptation of his first novel in Deepa Mehta’s film. (The film is currently streaming on CBC Gem.)
