The heartbeat of downtown and the community’s well-known reputation for fervently supporting worthwhile causes received an important dose of vitality last week with the announcement of plans for the Harrington Center for Philanthropy.
The project was announced by the Amarillo Area Foundation with the 23,000-square-foot center scheduled to occupy the former Taylor Furniture building at 10th Avenue and Polk Street. It is expected to be completed next spring and will serve as home to the Amarillo Area Foundation, the Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation and the Harrington Regional Medical Campus, according to our recent story.
