KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will now be able to recognise Muslim marriages solemnised outside the state with amendments to the Islamic Family Law Enactment 2004 passed by the legislative assembly on Wednesday (Aug 9).
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah state assembly has approved the Temporary Measures for Reducing the Impact of Covid-19 Bill 2020.
The Bill modifies provisions on certain enactments or ordinances, and is aimed at helping the people amid the pandemic.
State Local Government and Housing Minister and Second Finance Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, when reading the Bill, said it allows for temporary relief for the people from certain legal responsibilities until a stipulated time.
“It is an enactment to provide temporary measures to reduce the Covid-19 impact, including to modify relevant provisions in the Land Ordinance, the Housing Development (Control and Licensing) Enactment, the Islamic Family Law Enactment 2004, the Syariah Court Civil Procedure Enactment 2004, and the Native Courts Enactment, ” he said when describing the Bill.
