i ve got advice for the growing number of republicans who are choosing not to seek re-election. the senators like jeff flake of arizona, bob corker of tennessee have announced that they will not run next year. in the house, republicans charlie dent, illiana ross layton, pat tiberi, dave reichert. they ve all similarly announced retirement. and last friday, joe said he will fought run again. what do they have in common? they re regarded as establishment republicans with, not the type aligned with this president. what an office holder should do when they can t be renominated, it s an extraordinarily difficult question. most retire. to me, no glory attaches to that. some switch parties, some stand, fight and lose in a landslide. i don t see the point in had that. all that proves is that their
commentator who then as now, has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. dorian? so, i appreciate bruce because he was out there long before both senators flake and corker. and in terms of senator flake, i probably disagree with him on almost every issue. except for immigration. i m not going to revel in him stepping down. he wanted to make the republican party better and he had two options. switch parties or take his ball and go home and he chose the latter. that s unfortunate, actually, because we need a unified republican party for a strong two-party system. and this is just the indication that this civil war bubbling underneath republican party for a long time has now come out in the open. and i want to say about senator corker, where was he in 2015 and 2016 when the same donald trump showed up on the campaign trail as a same guy in the white house
prospect, whether or not he wants to run for president, whether or not he wants conservative activists or very conservative republican money going to him, he has made his life a little bit more difficult in that regard. but then again, a lot of the republicans were already opposed to him because of a number of other things including his support for president obama s how president obama conducted himself during hurricane sandy and the relief efforts right before the presidential election. it is not unexpected. it is in character, i agree. and, jake, we have seen it doesn t affect the poll numbers. if anything, it gives him more popularity here. he has an independent streak. he is somewhat of a renegade within his own party. the guys call him a rino. is it possible he might in the future switch parties or is he going to stay in line with his own party but appeal to the democrats and the independents who he needs desperately to win? he s actually a fairly conservative republican on
