Democrats express outrage at what they saw as a direct order to the Attorney General of the president s attorney Rudy Giuliani said the president frequently uses twitter to express opinions and that is all he was doing today. robert mueller has responded by letter to Donald Trumps lawyers questions and demands about the scope of any potential interview between mueller and donald trump. Mueller has not agreed to limit questions to matters of collusion. He wants to ask
electable and a lot of states, because they are just so extreme. i think the roe v. wade issue is not going to put even more of a point on that. a lot of those swing house districts? those red states that are going to see their laws make made draconian overnight by this decision. i think the combination of trumpism plus the extremism of the republican party, the question of abortion, that is really going to profoundly affect what happens. bill de blasio, thank you for coming in tonight. up next, my final thoughts. stay with us. y final thoughts stay with us stay with us i have moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. now, there s skyrizi. things are getting clearer, i feel free to bare my skin yeah, that s all me nothing and me go hand in hand nothing on my skin, that s my new plan nothing is everything achieve clearer with skyrizi.
that s one way for gavin newsom to win. i think they ve had a very strong last six weeks. the poll certainly did raise a lot of bells and focused attention. back to maria s point, i think any election, you want to unpack the results. i my guess is what you re going to see in this election, is strong numbers that democrats will lake in a lot of these swing house districts. you ll see outside support amongst republicans, but you may see weakness if not in latinos votes and latino turnout, given what happened for the latino vote, it s a base vote, you have to work for it just as you would a swing in wisconsin, or a young person voting for the first time. if we don t do, that if we don t make the investments in speaking on the policies. in lift up young leaders, we are not going to lake where we are over the next decade. but my sense is, this is turning into a race, it s one of the reasons newsom opened up
years to get this right. why are they still struggling with messaging? yeah, it s a good question. umm, i think that a lot of the candidates are caught between the messaging of just running against trump, because a lot of democrats think that that s pretty much all you need right now, he s very unpopular with their voters, he s very unpopular with independents, he s unpopular with the suburban voters that are very important in, say, 20 to 30 swing house districts. and so that s been the mainstay of the democratic message for the last two years, run against this very unpopular, controversial president who is alienating a lot of the groups that the democrats need. at the same time, a lot of democrats in these local races and in these statewide raises have trying to make the campaign about bread and butter democratic issues like health
out and do those independents and some of these swing house districts, those suburban women, do they make a difference. tamara, over there at the npr, you must have noticed immigration has made a last-minute, but big entry into the issues we ve been discussing. we see where the republicans want to go with it. scary stuff, about thousands on their way north. how does it cut for democrats? well, for democrats it is not a top priority issue. there is this pew poll out this week that talked to a lot of voters and found that immigration is the number one most important issue for republicans. it s a really salient issue with republicans. and for democrats, of the 18 possible issues listed, illegal immigration was their lowest priority. it was at the very bottom. so president trump is not talking to democrats.
