Dublin City Council Local Enterprise Office offers support to small businesses

Today marks the beginning of Local Enterprise Week, which was launched by the Tánaiste, Leo Varadkar. A number of initiatives will be taking place across the week including virtual FREE and low cost events such as training workshops, one to one mentoring, information webinars and masterclasses with experts. The week has information and supports for all small businesses whether planning, starting, sustaining or growing their business in 2021. Common topics across the week include starting a new business, resilience and recovery, the green economy, becoming ‘leaner’, exploring new markets, doing business online and the new trading relationship with the UK. For the first time, Local Enterprise Week also includes 10 ‘Spotlight’ events. These are open to all business nationally.

83% NOW LIKELY TO LOOK FOR LOCAL IN DUBLIN CITY

83% planning to support more local businesses in 2021 Surge in support for local businesses following campaigns Research carried out on behalf of the Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) as part of their ‘Look for Local’ campaign has shown that, 83% of Dublin City consumers were now more likely to buy local, either online or in-store, compared to 2019, as a result of recent campaigns to highlight local businesses.  Of those surveyed 8 out of 10 said that they were aware of campaigns, including that of the LEOs, encouraging individuals and businesses to look locally when buying goods or services.  83% of respondents in Dublin said they were more likely to shop locally online this year.  In addition,
