He didnt want to go on camera, hes still recovering from some injuries, he allowed me to take some pictures and ask him some questions. I asked him if there was anything different from this ride than every other time. What was different was that the door was open. He said, normally, the engineers are locked in that little room, and there was a clear view of the tracks. I was actually appreciating the scenery as we were going down the tracks. Back in 2012 sharon rearicks son john was killed on new falls road. An addition to that road has been improved in hopes that what happened to him will never happen again. Trish heart assemblyman in middletown township tonight with the full story. Trish. Reporter well, rick, monica, this busy stretch of new falls road is where john rearick lost his life in 2012. A memorial still stands across the street and plans to make this stretch of road a little bit safer are under way thanks in large part to rearicks mother. We got the approval and i got the standing ovation. This was the officer shot last night, a bullet lodging in his left thigh. Tonight he flashed his right thumb, telling reporters and supporters that he is ok and lucky to be alive. It is monday night and the big story on action news tonight is the latest in the case that temporarily failed a philadelphia cop. Tonight this man, 23yearold Scott Griffin is behind bars.
