World Environment Day is celebrated on June 5 every year since 1974 to urge people and governments to take proactive efforts in conserving our environment. With the increasing population, there is increased consumption and usage of resources. However, on a slightly brighter note, the global greenhouse gas emissions as per the UN Environment Programme have seen a dip in 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.
