The town has decided to remove a large industrial container parked on the Fisherman’s Beach parking lot by SUP East Coast Style, a stand-up paddleboard company running camps through the Swampscott Recreation Department this summer.
“It’s an industrial container sitting right near a historic building,” said Mary Ellen Fletcher, referring to the Swampscott Fish House. Fletcher lives nearby, is a former Harbor & Waterfront Advisory Committee member and serves as vice chair of the Swampscott Finance Committee.
She said she believes the storage container takes away from the beautiful appeal of the town’s seaside charm.
